The Music Department takes pride in sending the students for Cultural Exchange Programmes. The students have represented The Scindia School in the Canada Exchange in 2012. Our Students have represented India in the Turkey Exchange Programme in 2014. Our students are also open to experiment and form Rock Bands, in which they create and explore the bounties of music.

He has a rich experience of 27 years, with 19 years in The Scindia School and 8 years in other well-known schools of the country. Though basically a vocalist, Mr Banerjee also has expertise in composing orchestras. The spiritual ambience of the Astachal enhances manifold when he, or the students trained by him, present any of his soulful renditions there. He also helps in the organisation of SPIC MACAY programmes, because of which the entire school community gets an opportunity to witness the performances of renowned maestros. He took the initiative to provide international exposure to our boys through cultural exchanges to Canada and Turkey. A simple and honest man, Mr Banerjee wishes to see his students evolve into good human beings and work for the betterment of society. His achievements include the title of 'Hubahu Manna De' by 'Aarambh' Gwalior and the Milestone Award for his dedicated service at The Scindia School.

Mr Rajendra Sharma, FACULTY
Mr Rajendra Sharma

He is a visiting member of the faculty of Music. He is a Sangeet Visharad from the Chandigarh University. Mr Sharma also has a Prabhakar degree from the Allahabad University, and is a Sangeetacharya from Mathura. He has been attached with the Scindia School since 1992. Here, he trains the boys in the theoretical and practical aspects of playing tabla and is the much sought-after maestro for all the major theatrical and musical performances in school. He also guides students in playing mandolin. As a freelance artist, he is attached with the AIR and Doordarshan. Mr Sharma is a regular accompanist in ghazal performances and other musical events in the city. In addition, he has also given background score for some audio and video cassettes.
He is also associated with Hotel Tansen, an MP Tourism venture, as a supporting artist for their musical performances.
